I love the taco shell idea, that's ingenious! I've used them to start seedlings before and it worked great. The hardest thing for me is getting paper boxes anymore. They all seem to be switching to the polystyrene type ones where I shop.

I did use the egg carton for my paints and it worked great...but the only thing is the paint seems to get absorbed if you are using the paper egg cartons....

i have a huge collection of costume jewellery, and i use stacked egg cartons to store the hundreds of pairs of earrings... I put them in a drawer... fill up each cup, and then put another one on top... i use it for chains and bracelets that are flexible too.. keeps them all neat and easy to find. I can sort them, so i have one traythat is clip ons, and another that is drops, or studs or whatever...

Some great tips. I will have to remember the one about using them for painting. My kids love to paint!

As an ice-cube junkie, I will remember about making my cubes in styrofoan egg cartons. Heck , they are re-usable anyway, right? More ice-cubes for me!

I LOVE reuse articles. There is no better way to reduce waste that reusing. I have tried tips 2 and 4. I had never thought of the taco idea or the paint idea! Thank you for your useful ideas!

I used them for painting many times! I also used them when I was making a piñata for my nephews, creating a horn, stacking each of the compartments after cutting them.

A few days after I had read this story, my mother sent me up alot of costume jewelry that had belonged to my grandmother. I spent just a minute wondering where I was going to put everything and then I remembered the egg carton idea! Problem solved!

like the egg carotns...even old ice trays can be used for similar purposes...

Paper egg cartons are great in your fireplace if you are low on kindling;try to set it under your main log and it will burn for quite awhile. The best thing about this is that the ashes will stay in their egg carton shape; just a touch of your finger sends it all into a little heap of ashes...pretty cool.

I liked stavs idea of stacking them when uponthe other and using for keeping jewellary..I suppose same can be sued for keeping office stationary in place.

I just read how one person in a tea stall in nepal uses the egg cartons to keep the small glasses in the egg holes and serve tea to his customers....very innovative...

I never thought of these uses for egg cartons. I particularly like the one about using foam egg cartons as makeshift ice cube trays.

I use empty egg cartons to sow my seedlings for planting. I transfer them then sometimes reuse the tray.
