This is fantastic! I hope they extend this idea to NYC... we have so many taxis on the road, if at least 25% of them are hybrid, it will make a huge difference!

Big cities, long reviled as major polluters, are using this innovative, fuel saving/non-polluting mode of transport. I think it's not only giving back, but inspirational to cities of all sizes all over the world.

Hybrids are the need of the hour for every known city in the world....and taxis can only benefit from using these cars...so much pollution under control....

I could do well with one myself and some in my city because the pollution level is rather high.

I wonder if there is any kind of studies that show the difference between before and after using more hybrid cars... does anyone know if there are some kind of measurements? Just curious!

Both the school systems and the public bus system here added natural gas powered vehicles a while back, but there are also six or seven electric vehicle manufacturers in the area.

No matter what the rest of the country does, Colorado is positioning itself to provide alternatives to gas powered vehicles on a large scale.
