We do have a recycle place where you can drop your old phone books off. They put it out once a year. What I don't get is why more people don't just use the online phone books. Then again my parents would have no idea how to use them.

Sad to say, they do not recycle them where we live.

It's sad to see that a lot of places still don't recycle them. I personally don't use mine all that often anymore with the internet around.

This number has just been written in my address book, and I will be calling come Monday morning. Where we live, we get one big county telephone book, a small city telephone book, and a yellow pages book, all sneakily left on our doormat.

we do recucle our phone books and that is the best thing to do because anyways the phone book is not of much use as any other thing once the numbers are outdated. The government itself asks users to get their old ones and exchange it for the new one....

I really get irritated by the number of phone books left on the door mat....if we want a phone book, we should have the liberty to ask for it....not just waste it like that....

In Germany they do not deliver the phone book. If you want one, you can get it at the post office, and they have 2 options: the traditional book, and 2 CD Roms with the White and Yellow pages... I chose the CDs.

I think the cds are a better option in a way that you are not using the precious paper....but then the cds...cannot be reused so they are wasted the next year...is it not?
