Water is indeed very very preciuos although we do not realise it when we waste it while brushing our teeth or takig a shower, or playing with kids with the hose pipe etc. Small things do matter and we have to begine today to conserve water for tomorrow....

Lake Erie is right down the street from me and I can tell you that the last few years it has not iced up as much. That being said I have not heard anything around here about them wanting to take water from Lake Erie. I am sure that someone is eyeing it though.

The value of essential requirements like water are noticed only when there are droughts, etc. Water shortage is a worldwide problem and it has been even said that the 3rd World War may be fought over water.

The thing is people realise the value of something precious only when it is gone...just like the hen that layed golden eggs...we are all behaving like there is plenty and use all the water at one go, whereas the truth is water is depleting real rapidly...

I would agree that a lot of people don't think about it until it effect them or it is to late. I think that sites such as this though are helping to educate people about some of the problems we will face if things don't change.
