hmmm...the question is what should we really do with so many dumped gadgets..especially mobiles..with new models coming like truck loads...people will obviously buy new and throw the old....

I know that there is a program here where you can donate your old cell phones to the battered women's shelters. I think that a lot of more things will come out to deal with this problem.

Tater that is actually a goodidea..donating your old workable gadgets atleast ensure that they are used and not just dumped...

Most phone shops here have recycling schemes for old phones and other gadgets. I am the sort of person who hangs on to an old phone for ages 'just in case' the new one lets me down - it has happened several times!

There is a company called envirofone over here, who have a list of phones they will take off your hands, and how much they'll pay you for them. If i cared to give them my last phone (which i keep as a spare) i can get £32 for it (approx $58) Most UK charities now take them as well. One that converts them into 'alarms' which they give to vulnerable women, or children.
